pay.com.au lets businesses pay the ATO, payroll, super, suppliers and rent through one platform, by card or bank transfer. They earn points on those payments and can keep hold of cash for longer using their card's interest-free period. Payments sync back to Xero and MYOB.

The business was founded in Melbourne in 2019. It is now used by more than 70,000 businesses, and revenue grew from $33.2 million to $73 million in a year.

The role

This is a current role in the Growth team, reporting to the Growth Lead. The main goal is to bring in recent customers through more channels and lower the cost of acquiring each one.

The Growth Marketer looks at why customers act, designs the incentives and mechanics that shift that behaviour, and automates what works so it keeps running. The focus is Payables, the core of the platform, with Get Paid and FX also in scope.

The Growth Lead will hand over a set of existing workstreams based on where the person's experience fits. Examples include:
An affiliate program pilot, run with an external consultant
SEO and AI visibility strategy, developed with an external agency
The MQL pipeline, from first interest through to sales





pay.com.au is also launching an app as a current acquisition channel. This role works with the product team on the features marketing needs from it.

Day-to-day, the role involves building and automating tests in marketing and automation tools, briefing the in-house paid, web, content, and design specialists, and tracking results against CPA, CAC, and conversion.

About you
Two to four years in growth or acquisition marketing, or a similar hands-on role, including direct experience running paid and/or web and CRO work
Experience driving product growth, in a B2B or B2C setting
Has designed incentive or reward mechanics, such as referral structures, activation nudges or loyalty programs
Builds and automates processes in a marketing automation or CRM tool
Comfortable with attribution, A/B testing and performance data in Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4 or similar
Can write and edit on-brand copy
Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working across many teams
B2B experience is highly regarded, and SaaS, fintech, payments or accounting experience is preferred
Figma skills are a plus
