About the role The Stores Assistant supports the Stores Person by picking and staging stock items for production, replenishing inventory, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory, as well as cutting materials as well as receiving, storing, and dispatching. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, confidence with hand tools (e.g., drills, grinders), and a proactive attitude to ensure efficient store operations and high-quality assembly work.

Key responsibilities
Pick components for the assembly department, including kits, working from picking lists, and staging materials
Monitor stock levels and replenish shelves or storage areas as needed
Conduct stock checks of consumable items, including cycle counts and monitoring reorder points and ensuring the consumable stock list is maintained
Report shortages and stock discrepancies to the Stores Person in a timely manner
Cut ceramic brick and tile to specified dimensions
Use hand tools (e.g., drills, grinders, saws) to assemble minor assemblies to fulfil customer orders, as directed by the Stores Person
Perform stock spot checks as directed by the Stores Person, verifying quantity and location against system records




Support goods-in and goods-out processing as directed by the store person
Assist with receiving, storing, and dispatching
Enter and update data in the inventory system (Pronto/Odoo) relating to picking and stock transactions/locations

About you
Confidence and proficiency with hand tools (e.g., drills, grinders, saws) and ability to safely operate power tools
Forklift licence
Robust organisational and time-management skills
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20 kg) and stand for extended periods
Basic computer skills for inventory management systems
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock, documentation, and assembly tasks
Team player with positive communication skills
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a transparent focus on first class customer service and quality of work
Demonstrated knowledge of and willingness to engage with industry-specific safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), handling of hazardous materials, and awareness of potential workplace hazards
Knowledge of emergency procedures, including evacuation plans, first aid, and fire safety protocols
