High profile Infrastructure business is investing heavily in its capital program, with a significant pipeline of capex initiatives underway.

The Head of Capital Planning is seeking a high performing Senior Analyst to join a newly established Capital Planning team. This role will play a key part in business case development, financial modelling and evaluation of major capex initiatives, working closely with project sponsors, finance and operational stakeholders to ensure capital is allocated to the right projects.

This is initially a contract prospect with the view to go permanent.

Key duties include
Develop and maintain robust business cases and financial models for capex initiatives, including NPV, IRR and payback analysis
Support the capital planning and prioritisation process, working with project sponsors to stress test assumptions and challenge investment logic
Prepare board and executive ready materials to support capital allocation decisions and governance forums
Partner with project, engineering and operational teams to understand project scope,



cost drivers and perks realisation
Track capital spend against approved budgets and support post investment reviews
Contribute to continuous improvement of capital planning frameworks, templates and processes as the team establishes itself

Key criteria to be considered:
CA/CPA/CFA qualified ideally
Strong financial modelling skills, with demonstrated experience building business cases from the ground up
Commercial and curious mindset, comfortable challenging assumptions and getting into the detail of a project
Sector experience in infrastructure, industrials, utilities or other capital-intensive industries preferred
Solid stakeholder management skills, able to work across finance and operational teams
