Position Summary The Production Manager (Manufacturing) plans, organises,directs, controls and coordinates the manufacturing activities of the company, including the physical and human resources engaged in precision machining, metal fabrication and assembly operations. The role holds managerial authority overproduction planning, quality, cost, staffing and workplace safety across the company's manufacturing operations at its Ipswich facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans for the company's precision machining, fabrication and assembly operations.
Plan the details of production activities in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements to meet customer orders and deadlines.
Control the operation of production plant and equipment and quality assurance procedures, including planning of maintenance schedules, designation of operating hours, and supply of parts, tools and raw materials.
Monitor production output, costs and efficiency, and adjust processes, staffing and resource allocation to minimize costs and waste while maintaining product quality.
Liaise with and inform company directors and other manager son production performance, capacity, and operational issues.
Oversee the acquisition, installation and commissioning of recent production plant, machinery and equipment.
Direct research into improved production and fabrication methods, and recommend and implement process improvement initiatives.
Control the preparation of production records, reports and documentation, including job costings and production schedules.
Coordinate the implementation of occupational health and safety (WHS) requirements across the production floor.
Direct the activities of production and workshop staff, including supervisors, machinists and fabricators, and monitor their performance.
Liaise with customers and suppliers on production capacity, specifications, lead times and quality requirements.
Manage recruitment, training and performance development of production staff to maintain a skilled workforce.
Skill and Qualification Requirements
Requires a qualification comparable to an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree
or higher (e.g. in Manufacturing, Operations Management,Engineering or a related field) OR 5 years of relevant work
experience in the field.
Salary.
$95,000 - $98,000 per annum plus Superannuation
