About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for chefs to join our growing team at Hotel Wangi. We are a well-established, family-run venue with a proud 30-year history of delivering great food and service to the Lake Macquarie community.

Head Chef Key responsibilities
Overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
Leading and motivating a small team in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
Maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Managing ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
Creating and managing chef rosters
You will have the ability to make changes to the menu and make it your own

About you
At least 2 years of proven experience in a head chef or senior leadership role within a busy kitchen
A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example
Strong knowledge of kitchen systems, food safety standards, and stock control
A passion for great food, excellent service, and creating a positive team culture





Qualified Chef Key responsibilities
Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
Confidently running kitchen service independently, taking responsibility for the smooth and effective operation of the kitchen during service.
Working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Food preparation & stock control.
Developing chefs specials

About you
Qualified Chef with relevant industry experience.
Confident and capable of running a kitchen service independently.
Ability to maintain high standards while working under pressure.
Creative and passionate about food, with an interest in developing chefs specials.
