About the role The Learning Support Officer supports the educational mission and Christian ethos of the school by assisting teachers in the delivery of learning programs and supporting students to engage positively in learning. The role contributes to inclusive education and student wellbeing while upholding Anglican values, school policies and qualified standards.

Key responsibilities
Support individual students and small groups with learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Assist students with additional learning needs, including students with disability, learning difficulties, behavioural or social-emotional needs.
Support students' wellbeing, social skills and positive behaviour, modelling respectful and caring relationships consistent with Anglican values.
Assist with personal care, mobility or health-related support where required, in accordance with training and school policies.
Supervise students during lessons, excursions, camps, chapel services and playground duty as directed.
Prepare and organise learning materials, resources and equipment.
Support classroom routines and transitions.
Assist with the implementation of learning adjustments, Individual Education Plans (IEPs),



behaviour support plans or pastoral care strategies.
Observe and record student engagement and progress and provide feedback to teachers as requested.
Support the inclusive participation of students in academic, co-curricular and pastoral activities.

About you
Ability to work effectively with children and young people.
Commitment to the values and ethos of an Anglican school.
Robust interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy and a supportive, inclusive approach to learning.
Ability to follow teacher direction and work effectively as part of a team.
Basic literacy, numeracy and organisational skills.
Working With Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory.
Relevant qualifications or experience in education support (e.g. Certificate III or IV in Education Support) – desirable.
Understanding of inclusive education and student wellbeing, or willingness to undertake skilled learning.
First Aid training – desirable or required depending on school policy.

Contract for one year commencing in Term 4, 2026, with the potential for ongoing work
