Forrest Gump wasn’t a Management Accountant.

Which is probably fortunate because his cash-flow forecasting would’ve been questionable.

But he did understand one thing we’re looking for here.

When it’s time to run, you run.

This business doesn’t need another accountant who waits for a beautifully detailed list of instructions before doing anything.

They want someone they can give information to, point roughly in the right direction and trust to run with it.

You’ll join a large regional employer going through some reliable growth and change.

There’s a recent ERP implementation, a new payroll system, cash-flow forecasting to sharpen, budgets to build and costs to get properly stuck into.

You won’t just report the numbers.

You’ll help improve them.

The first few months will be heavily focused on the ERP implementation. Data integrity, cost centres, reporting and helping shape a system that gives the business better information to make better decisions.

What they expect is curiosity.

Initiative.

And the ability to hear, “Here’s what we’re trying to achieve” without replying, “Cool.



Can you tell me exactly what to do next?”

Agricultural experience would be excellent. ERP implementation experience would be handy. A strong accounting background and commercial mindset are important.

But attitude is the big one.

They want someone driven, adaptable and hungry to learn. Someone who spots opportunities, asks questions and has a crack.

They’re also big on AI and want someone who sees it as a tool to become better at their job, rather than the beginning of a robot uprising.

Initially, you’ll be office-based while you learn the operation and build relationships.

And there’s genuine room to grow.

You’ll work closely with management, gain exposure to senior leadership and have the chance to make this role considerably bigger over time.

So, if you’re happy cruising along in your current accounting role, cruise away.

But if you’re sitting there thinking, “Give me the opportunity and get out of my way”…
