About the role

This is a hands-on position combining forklift operation, loading and unloading (timber, sheet products & builders hardware), order preparation and general yard duties. You'll also assist customers collecting orders, so being helpful, approachable and able to communicate clearly is important.

Key responsibilities
Operating a forklift safely and confidently within the yard & warehouse
Loading and unloading suppliers/delivery trucks (non-covered area)
Loading products into customer vehicles
Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
Checking products and quantities before orders leave the yard
Receiving and putting away incoming stock
Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
Assisting customers to locate and collect their products
Completing general yard and manual handling duties
Communicating with the team about orders, deliveries and priorities

About you




A current Australian LF forklift licence
Previous forklift operating experience (Combi lift highly regarded)
Experience loading and unloading trucks or customer vehicles
A solid commitment to safe working practices
Positive attention to detail
A reliable and consistent work ethic
The ability to work well within a team
The initiative to see what needs doing and get on with it
Explicit and respectful communication skills
The ability to safely complete the manual handling requirements of a yard-based position
