Visiting Orthodontist – Once Monthly

Visiting Specialist Position | Approximately 1 Day per Month

Total Smiles Dental is seeking an experienced Orthodontist to join our Craigieburn practice as a visiting specialist, initially attending approximately once per month.

The Orthodontist will receive internal referrals from our general dentists, with complex orthodontic cases referred directly for specialist assessment and management. As patient demand grows, there may be an opportunity to increase the frequency of visiting sessions.

Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist orthodontic consultations and treatment planning.
Manage complex orthodontic cases referred internally.
Provide fixed orthodontic and transparent aligner treatment where appropriate.
Assess children, teenagers and adults with orthodontic concerns.
Manage crowding, spacing, bite discrepancies, impacted teeth and other orthodontic conditions.
Review radiographs, digital scans, photographs and other diagnostic records.
Work collaboratively with our general dentists and other specialists.
Maintain high-quality clinical records and patient communication.

Requirements

Applicants should




Be a qualified Orthodontist with appropriate specialist qualifications.
Hold current AHPRA registration permitting practice as an Orthodontist.
Have appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Be confident managing complex orthodontic cases.
Have solid communication and treatment-planning skills.
Be comfortable treating both adults and children.

Experience with fixed orthodontics and clear aligner therapy is highly regarded.

Frequency: Approximately 1 day per month initially

Pay: $150,000.00 – $450,000.00 per year
