We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Engineer for secondment to a major gas client in Perth.

The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering support within the client’s project and engineering team, with a focus on the technical management and delivery of mechanical equipment packages.

Responsibilities
Manage mechanical equipment packages from engineering through procurement and delivery.
Develop and review equipment specifications, datasheets and requisitions.
Review vendor quotations and undertake technical bid evaluations.
Review vendor drawings, calculations, datasheets and other technical documentation.
Manage technical queries and liaise directly with equipment vendors.
Coordinate mechanical packages with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil and structural disciplines.
Monitor vendor engineering, fabrication, inspection and delivery activities.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and other technical reviews.
Support equipment inspection, testing, installation and commissioning.
Identify and resolve technical issues, RFIs and non-conformances.




Ensure equipment complies with client specifications, applicable Australian Standards and relevant industry codes.
Provide technical support to the client’s project and engineering teams.
Provide guidance to less experienced engineers where required.

Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Solid experience in the gas, oil & gas, LNG or energy sector.
Proven experience in mechanical package engineering and equipment procurement.
Solid experience working with vendors and reviewing vendor documentation.
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
Valuable knowledge of relevant Australian and international engineering standards.
Strong technical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a client organisation and adapt to established processes and systems.
Perth-based and available to work at the client’s Perth office.
