Calvani Haulage Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Forbes, NSW.

This is a full time permanent position based primarily in our workshop, maintaining and repairing our heavy vehicle fleet. Occasional breakdown and roadside call-outs may be required.

Visa sponsorship may be available for a suitably qualified overseas applicant who meets Australian immigration requirements.

About the role The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles and trailers.

Duties will include
Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
Heavy vehicle and trailer repairs
Brake, steering and suspension repairs
Engine repairs, removal and replacement
Transmission and driveline repairs
Breakdown diagnosis and roadside repairs as required
Computer-based diagnostics and fault finding
Trailer maintenance and repairs
General workshop repairs and maintenance
Identifying defects and required repairs
Maintaining accurate servicing and repair records
Ensuring vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
Complying with workplace health and safety requirements

About you

We are looking for someone who:




Has recognised Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanical qualifications or equivalent
Has demonstrated experience working on heavy commercial vehicles
Has strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Can work independently and as part of a team
Has positive attention to detail
Takes pride in maintaining vehicles to a high standard
Is reliable and safety focused

Experience working with Mack and Kenworth trucks is highly regarded.

Experience with air brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, electrical fault finding, trailers and heavy vehicle diagnostics would also be highly regarded.

What we offer
Full-time permanent employment
$90,000–$100,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience
Overtime and call-out payments may apply in addition to base salary
