The Office of the Chief Practitioner Professional Practice leads and sets the standards for evidence-informed contemporary practice for professionals working with children, young people and families in child safety and youth justice settings across the Agency, including social workers, support workers, youth workers, nurses and clinical allied health professionals such as psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists. This includes leading strategic projects to drive high quality practice that responds to the changing needs of the communities we serve. The Office is responsible for professional workforce learning and development, evidence-informed clinical practice development and policy, practice quality assurance and risk management, and for being an escalation point for response to serious events, complaints and wellbeing in care concerns across the Child Safety Youth Justice Operations Portfolio.
About the Role
The Senior Policy and Project Officer is responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering sophisticated policy, project and practice initiatives that prevent, reduce and effectively respond to harmful sexual behaviour across Child Safety and Youth Justice Operations. The role provides high level analysis, specialist advice and statewide support to ensure policy and practice frameworks reflect contemporary research, legislative requirements and interagency expectations.
The position contributes to strengthening safeguarding systems, workforce capability and service quality by leading strategic policy work, producing high quality briefs and reports, coordinating project activities and working collaboratively with operational leaders, practitioners and external partners to embed improvements that protect children and young people.
