The Western Force is a professional rugby union team based in Western Australia competing in the elite Super Rugby Pacific and Super W competitions.
As an organisation, the Force has a proud history, having been formed in **** and making its Super Rugby debut in **** at its original home, Subiaco Oval. Backed by Tattarang, the club operates at the highest level of sporting professionalism in Western Australia and has a solid presence nationally and internationally. We are seeking a RTP Strength and Conditioning Coach who will be engaged full time on a 1 year fixed term contract.
This role will be responsible for designing and delivering athletic performance programs for Super Rugby contracted players, with a core focus on managing the return to performance of injured athletes in collaboration with the WF medical team.
Under the direction of the Head of Physical Performance, this role will ensure best practise is implemented to maximise individual development and team performance in alignment with the organisational performance and development philosophy. Program delivery will be integrated closely with the Men's Super Rugby and Academy performance and development programmes.
The Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities:
Programming and delivery of strength and conditioning services to professional rugby athletes with a specific focus on athletes returning from injury.
Work closely with Head of Rehabilitation to assist in managing the return to performance of injured players as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Work in conjunction with athletic performance team to ensure alignment of training programs and methods while ensuring athletes achieve specific development and performance KPIs.
Assist the Head of Strength and conditioning in programming and delivery of strength and conditioning services to contracted Western Force Super Rugby players
Assist in the design and implementation of the warmup, speed-agility, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning programmes where required.
Assist across multiple areas within the performance program including recovery, cross training and game day delivery.
Assist with athlete testing, monitoring, data collection and inputting as required.
Maintain the gym equipment and environment to high standards, ensuring safety and cleanliness as a priority
Maintain strong communication on a daily basis with the rehab and physio departments in reference to player well-being
