About the role
Barwon Health's Swanston Centre is seeking an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, Clinical Specialist to provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership within our acute inpatient mental health service.
Working alongside the NUM, CNC and ANUMs, you'll support high-quality, recovery-oriented care while building the capability of the nursing team.
This is a clinically focused leadership role, with opportunities to influence practice, education and service improvement.
Key responsibilities
Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in acute mental health and MHIC nursing
Support the implementation of Safewards, reducing restrictive interventions and contemporary recovery-oriented practice
Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and education to nursing and direct-care staff
Undertake advanced clinical assessments and direct consumer care to role model best-practice nursing
Lead and contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, education and service development
What we're looking for
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with 5+ years' post-registration mental health nursing experience
Postgraduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing or specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing qualification
Significant acute psychiatric inpatient experience with strong MHICN and reducing restrictive interventions knowledge
Sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act **** and contemporary recovery-oriented mental health practice
Strong clinical leadership, communication,



mentoring and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
