We are looking for an experiencedFinancial Crime Operations Analystto join our team and play a hands-on role in detecting, investigating and remediating fraud and financial crime.
This is an operational role suited to someone with direct experience intransaction monitoring, alert handling and end-to-end financial crime investigationswithin an APRA or AUSTRAC-regulated environment.
What You'll Do
Investigate and remediatefraud and financial crimeacross products, services and digital channels, working closely with the Financial Crime Operations Lead and broader Financial Crime team.
Conducttransaction monitoring, alert assessment and case investigations, identifying suspicious activity and emerging financial crime risks.
Undertakecustomer due diligenceand investigate high-risk transactions, escalations and referrals, includingPEP, jurisdiction risk and DASP cases.
Manage financial crime casesend-to-end, from initial triage and investigation through to recovery, remediation and resolution.
Prepare and submitSuspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) to AUSTRAC, ensuring investigations and supporting documentation are accurate and complete.
Monitor digital channels to identify and preventaccount takeover, identity theft and other forms of fraud.
Support financial crime and fraudincident management, including investigation, escalation and remediation activities.
Maintain accurate, detailed and auditable investigation records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
Identify trends,
patterns and emerging risks and contribute to improvements in financial crime controls and processes.
What We're Looking For
Demonstratedhands-on financial crime operations experiencein an APRA or AUSTRAC-regulated organisation.
Strong experience acrosstransaction monitoring, alert handling and case management.
Proven ability to investigate fraud, financial crime and suspicious activity across multiple products and channels.
Experience conductingcustomer due diligence and enhanced due diligence, particularly for higher-risk customers and transactions.
Knowledge ofPEPs, jurisdiction risk, DASP and other financial crime risk indicators.
Experience preparingSMRs for AUSTRACand maintaining high-quality investigation records.
Understanding of fraud typologies includingaccount takeover and identity-related fraud.
Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess information, identify patterns and make sound risk-based decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and articulate investigation outcomes.
Robust attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.
