About the opportunity
Shape tomorrow's teachers through the science of learning.
The School of Education is seeking passionate and innovative educators to join our team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Education.
Working within Initial Teacher Education, you will contribute to teaching, research and engagement activities with a focus on cognitive science, educational psychology and evidence-based teaching practices.
Whether you are an emerging academic building your research profile or an established scholar with a record of academic leadership, this is an opportunity to influence how future teachers learn, teach and make a lasting impact in classrooms and communities.
What you'll do:
Shape the next generation of teachers through high-quality teaching and mentorship.
Deliver engaging learning experiences informed by cognitive science and evidence-based practice.
Contribute to research that advances understanding of how students learn.
Build solid partnerships with schools,
communities and the broader education sector.
Supervise and support research students.
Collaborate with colleagues to drive excellence in teacher education.
About you:
Emerging or established teaching and research profile in education, cognitive science, psychology or a related field.
Demonstrated capacity to contribute to research and teaching excellence.
Interest in building research impact, grant success and academic leadership.
Established teaching and research profile with a record of academic leadership.
Demonstrated success in research funding and supervision of higher degree research students.
Capacity to teach across cognitive science and broader areas of teacher education.
National, and ideally international, recognition in the field.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B or C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $114,766 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
Relocation support may be available to the successful candidate, helping make a move to Tasmania as seamless as possible.

To be eligible for this position, you are required to hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship, permanent residency or a valid visa that enables you to fulfil the requirements of this role.
