Our client is a market-leading, Tier 1 warehouse automation solution provider, responsible for complex, large-scale installation projects for major clients across Australia and globally.
n
Having won a high-value / high-profile project in Melbourne's Western suburbs, they have an immediate chance for an experienced Contract Administrator to join the project team to ensure that the project runs on solid contractual footing.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting to the Lead Contract Manager, you'll manage the downstream contractual and commercial aspects of this installation project. Specifically, you'll be responsible for:
n
n
Administering suppliers' equipment supply and/or construction and installation contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements
n
Reviewing and negotiating subcontract terms and conditions, identifying and escalating potential risks
n
Providing guidance to project teams and management on subcontract-related issuesImplementing and managing the invoice approval process for installation progress claims, cross-checking against contractual terms and project deliverables before payments are approved
n
Maintaining accurate, well-organised project documentation, including subcontracts, change orders and correspondence
n
Tracking and reporting on contract milestones, deliverables and deadlines, including delays and Extensions of Time
n
Working closely with project managers, area managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are understood and proactively managed
n
Collaborating with legal, finance and procurement teams to resolve contractual issues
n
Managing the end-to-end change order process, from review and negotiation through to processing
n
Monitoring, managing and corresponding on Extensions of Time and Notices of Delay with subcontractors
n
Maintaining the Bank Guarantee register with finance, coordinating extensions and returns
n
Maintaining the Subcontractor insurance policy register, coordinating renewals to ensure ongoing compliance
n

About You
n
In addition to your degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, Law or a related field you can demonstrate:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Contract Administrator
n
Proven experience in construction and installation contract administration
n
Solid working knowledge of contract law and construction industry regulations, including Security of Payment legislation, OHS laws and general commercial contracting principles
n
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build credible relationships across all levels internally and with subcontractors
n
Highly organised with strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
n
Proficiency in ERP systems, contract management software and the Microsoft Office suite
n
n
Preferred:
n
n
Exposure to materials handling systems or similar
automated/mechanical
installation environments
n
n
This is a hybrid site-based role in Melbourne's western suburbs and some WFH.
n
Full working rights in Australia essential as well as an availability to commence as short notice.
