An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established mechanical contractor based out of their Wollongong office.

Operating for over 30 years, the business has developed a strong presence across the Illawarra, South Coast and wider NSW market, with an in-house engineering team supporting projects from initial design through to construction, commissioning and handover.

The business delivers a diverse range of mechanical projects across healthcare, commercial, education, government, high-rise residential and specialist environments.
n
Projects range from smaller technically complex upgrades through to major multi-million-dollar mechanical packages, giving the engineering team exposure to a broad mix of project sizes, systems and technical challenges.

The Role
n
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take a lead technical role across a diverse portfolio of HVAC projects.
n
You will work closely with Project Managers, drafting teams, clients, consultants and site teams to develop practical, coordinated and buildable mechanical solutions.
n
This isn't a role where you design a project and never see it again. You'll have the opportunity to remain involved throughout the full project lifecycle and see your engineering solutions delivered on site.

Key Responsibilities
n

Develop and review mechanical services designs
n
HVAC calculations,



equipment selections and system design
n
Lead technical and design coordination with clients and consultants
n
Work closely with Project Managers and construction teams
n
Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions
n
Identify value engineering and buildability opportunities
n
Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning
n
Mentor and support junior engineersEnsure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements
n

About You
n
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
n
Robust HVAC/building services engineering background
n
Experience within mechanical contracting or building services consulting
n
Strong technical design capability
n
Good understanding of how mechanical systems are actually installed and commissioned
n
Confident dealing with clients, builders and consultants
n
Ability to take technical ownership of projects and mentor junior engineers
n
