We are seeking a friendly, customer-focused Retail Optical Assistant to join our team at our

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a robust interest in fashion and

eyewear, and takes pride in delivering an excellent patient and customer experience. You will
n
support patients throughout their optical journey, from making appointments, selecting frames
n
and discussing lens options through to dispensing and collection. 20 hours a week is available with Saturday availability needed
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Welcome patients and provide warm, professional and personalised customer service.
n
Assist patients with frame selection based on their prescription, lifestyle, preferences and budget.
n
Explain lens options, coatings, upgrades and other optical products in a transparent and helpful manner.
n
Assist with optical dispensing, including fitting and adjusting frames.
n
Measure patients accurately and ensure eyewear is fitted comfortably and appropriately.
n
Process sales, payments and orders accurately.
n
Coordinate eyewear orders and follow up with suppliers as required.
n
Contact patients when their glasses or contact lenses are ready for collection.
n
Provide a high standard of after-sales service and assist with repairs and adjustments.
n




Support the broader clinic team with general administrative and customer service duties.
n
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with clinic policies, procedures and relevant professional standards.

Is confident, approachable and genuinely enjoys helping people.
n
Is comfortable discussing products and making recommendations based on individual needs.
n
Has robust attention to detail and accuracy.
n
Is organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
n
Works well independently and as part of a close-knit team.
n
Is confident using computers and point-of-sale systems.
n
Presents professionally and takes pride in their work.
n

Experience in retail, fashion, healthcare, customer service or a similar patient-facing environment will also be valued. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
