Principal Developer / Lead Backend Developer | Federal Government

Contract: 12 months + 12-month extension option

Working arrangements: Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office

Clearance: Must be able to obtain an NV1

Bridge IT is looking for an experienced Principal Developer / Lead Backend Developer to join a Federal Government department with offices in multiple locations. This is a technical leadership role with a strong hands-on focus, leading the design, development and evolution of enterprise-scale backend services and the API platform supporting the departments web, portal and mobile applications.

We're looking for experience across:

Enterprise-scale backend services & API architecture
n
CI/CD,



automated testing & contemporary platform engineering
n
Technical leadership and mentoring of development teams
n
AI-assisted software development tools and practices
n
Salesforce / MuleSoft integrations highly regarded
n
Cloudflare experience would also be beneficial
n
n
This would suit a Principal Developer, Lead Developer, Lead Backend Engineer, API Technical Lead or Software Engineering Lead who can provide technical direction while remaining actively involved in delivery.
