All Roads Wholesale Fund
Queensland
Job Description
All Roads Wholesale Fund is seeking a commercially minded Senior Executive to join the business in a broad hybrid leadership role spanning finance, private credit, investment, liquidity, risk and governance.
n
Our ideal candidate will bring experience across one or more of the following areas: Chief Financial Officer, Investment Management and Senior Credit Executive, with the commercial judgement and adaptability to operate effectively across all three.
n
This is not a conventional corporate CFO position. The role requires someone who understands accounting, financial management and liquidity, but who can also think like a lender.
n
All Roads operates within a privately owned, entrepreneurial small-business workplace. The Managing Director has interests across a number of associated businesses, and our people work collaboratively across those businesses where their expertise is required.
n
While this is a senior executive appointment involving significant financial responsibility and multi-million-dollar transactions, we do not operate with the layers or narrowly defined functions of a large corporate environment.
n
We are looking for someone equally comfortable in the Boardroom and in the detail.
n
You may be assessing a significant lending transaction or presenting a recommendation to the Board one day, and investigating an inter-entity discrepancy, challenging a budget assumption or reviewing an unusual transaction the next.
n
We value people who take ownership of the outcome rather than the boundaries of a job description.
n
The Role
n
Working closely with the Managing Director, Board, Investment/Credit Committee, Responsible Managers, finance team and external advisers, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and Board reporting across the Fund and associated businesses.
n
Managing cashflow, liquidity, funding commitments, capital deployment and cost of funds.
n
Maintaining oversight of day-to-day financial records and ensuring financial information across the businesses is accurate, current and reliable.
n
Reviewing underlying transactions and financial information to identify discrepancies, unusual movements, control weaknesses and emerging risk issues.
n
Managing and reviewing inter-entity transactions and balances and providing reliable actual financial data for budgeting and forecasting.
n
Assessing property-backed lending and development funding opportunities, including borrower capacity, serviceability, feasibility, valuations, LVRs, security, pricing, cost of funds and exit strategies.
n
Evaluating the commercial merits and risks of proposed transactions and recommending appropriate conditions, mitigants and actions.
n
Preparing and reviewing Credit Papers and acting as a central member of the Investment/Credit Committee in making recommendations to the Managing Director and Board.
n
Coordinating due diligence, documentation and settlement with lawyers, valuers, Quantity Surveyors and other external advisers.
n
Facilitating drawdown and payment authorisation processes and ensuring required approval and settlement conditions are satisfied before funds are released.
n
Monitoring existing loans, including repayments, arrears, covenants, maturity, security, construction progress and emerging risks.
n
Supporting wholesale investor and fundraising activities where required.
n
Providing oversight of the Fund's AFSL, AML/CTF, compliance and risk management framework in conjunction with Responsible Managers and compliance personnel.
n
Identifying financial, operational and risk-management flags early and ensuring matters are investigated, escalated and followed through to resolution.
n
n
A Hands-On Executive Role
n
The successful candidate must be capable of operating at both strategic and operational levels.
n
We are looking for someone with the experience and judgement to manage significant financial and investment responsibilities, but also the humility and flexibility to get into the underlying detail when required.
n
If a balance does not make sense, a transaction appears unusual or financial information cannot be relied upon, you will be willing and able to investigate the issue rather than simply delegate it.
n
You will understand that in a small business, seniority does not remove responsibility for the detail.
n
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and responsibility and who is prepared to roll up their sleeves when required to achieve the right outcome.
n
About You
n
You may currently be a CFO or senior finance executive, Investment Manager, Head of Credit, senior Credit Manager, private credit or property finance professional, development finance professional, banker or senior commercial finance professional.

n
Strong cashflow, liquidity, budgeting and forecasting capability.
n
Experience preparing or reviewing Credit Committee, Investment Committee or Board papers.
n
The ability to move from high-level financial reporting into transactional detail and identify discrepancies or emerging risks.
n
Exposure to AFSL, wholesale funds management or regulated financial services environments would be highly regarded.
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, economics, property or a related discipline.
n
Advanced Xero & Microsoft 365 skills, together with strong systems aptitude.
n
CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent professional qualifications would be highly regarded.
n
n
