An opportunity to join a rapid-growing Australian eCommerce business with a strong focus on delivering in-demand products at competitive prices. The business is seeking a commercially minded Junior Category Manager to take ownership of assigned product categories and drive range, sales and profitability.
n
The Role
n
Working closely with Purchasing, Marketing, Logistics and Finance, you will take ownership of assigned categories across the full product lifecycle.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Manage and develop assigned product categories and ranges
n
Identify current product and range expansion opportunities
n
Source products and manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
n
Negotiate pricing, trading terms and supplier agreements
n
Monitor sales, margins, inventory levels and overall category performance
n
Conduct competitor, pricing and market analysis
n
Manage open orders, stock availability and product demand
n
Support pricing, promotional activity and product launches
n




Work closely with Marketing to optimise product listings and promotions
n
Analyse costs including freight, warehousing and other factors impacting profitability
n
n
Your Background
n
n
Experience within Category Management, Buying, Merchandise or a similar commercial role
n
Experience within eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environments highly regarded
n
Exposure to managing or supporting a product range/category
n
Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing, margins and profitability
n
Confident working with suppliers and negotiating commercial outcomes
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
n
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
n
Comfortable working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
n
