Job Description
We are partnering with a high-growth, Private Equity-backed business that is entering an exciting phase of expansion and is looking to appoint a high-calibre Financial Controller to help build and lead the finance function through its next stage of growth.

The business has grown by approximately *****% since its PE investment and is expected to be 2–3x larger over the next four years, creating a genuine opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Controller to have significant influence on the finance function, systems and processes.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial control and reporting function, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
n
This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on, technically strong and commercially involved. You will need to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced setting where processes are still being built and improved, and where you are expected to hit the ground running.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading the month-end and year-end close process across a complex, multi-entity group
n
Reviewing and overseeing management accounting and monthly reporting
n
Preparing quarterly investor, Board and PE reporting packs
n
Overseeing statutory reporting, taxation and compliance requirements
n
Providing strong technical accounting expertise across areas including lease accounting, consolidations, tax and AASB/IFRS
n
Leading the annual external audit process and managing relationships with external advisors
n
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
n
Driving improvements across finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks
n
Supporting ERP implementation and broader finance systems improvements
n
Supporting acquisitions,
integration activities and other strategic projects
n
Overseeing AP/AR and cash management functions
n
Managing, developing and growing the finance team
n
n
The role currently sits within a finance function of approximately 7 people, reporting into the CFO and leading the broader financial accounting team.
n
About you
n
We are looking for a high-functioning Financial Controller who can operate at both a technical and commercial level.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Approximately 4–5 years Big 4 audit experience, ideally through to Manager level
n
A further 5+ years in a commercial financial reporting environment
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge across AASB/IFRS, consolidations, leases and taxation
n
Experience working within a multi-entity, high-growth SME/mid-market environment
n
Strong month-end, financial reporting and management accounting experience
n
Exposure to PE, investor or Board reporting
n
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
n
Experience with ERP systems and finance
transformation/implementation
n
Strong leadership and team development capability
n
n
Property experience would be advantageous, but is not essential. Experience in a PE-backed or debt-funded environment will be highly regarded.
