Job Description
A few of your responsibilities
n
Compliance Advisory
n
n
Provide compliance advice to business units and senior stakeholders
n
Support stakeholders in embedding compliance obligations
n
Assist with periodic compliance monitoring programs to assess effectiveness of Compliance Management Framework
n
n
Policy Governance
n
n
Develop and maintain the Policy Architecture that governs The Star's Policies, SOPs and supporting governance documents, including the master list of policies
n
Support Policy Owners to monitor and anticipate regulatory change and proposed business changes to ensure the potential impact on The Star's Policies is appropriately understood and responded to.
n
Support internal stakeholders and the compliance and risk teams to scope requirements for each policy as Policy Owners develop or update policies for sign off by accountable owners
n
Support the management of the forward plan of board approvals (for Policies requiring board approval) including the boards of TSEG and casino operators, where required
n
Prepare reporting to management Risk committees on certain policy and governance items
n
Provide reporting to the Board/ risk committees on the effectiveness and adherence to the Compliance Risk Management Framework and Policy governance.
n
Support development of awareness and communications to employees on changes to policy obligations
n
Provide input to training on new and updated policies
n
Ensure Policies are stored central and published to employees, contractors and external stakeholders via the website as required (including in languages other than English)
n
Provide support to the Compliance team and General Manager, Compliance as required and assist with assigned projects.
n

What we are looking for
n
n
Ability to role model and champion the voice of risk and compliance in The Star
n
Strong writing skills including use of plain language and brevity to aid understanding
n
Ability to think strategically
n
Ability to identify opportunities for improvements in compliance processes
n
Ability to lead a change management program and to challenge the status quo
n
Effective oral and written communication skills
n
Ability to assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of compliance programs in complex regulatory environments
n
Ability to develop effective relationships with key stakeholders
n
Ability to lead a team of compliance professionals
n
Sound knowledge of The Star Entertainment Group's principal compliance obligations.
n
5-8 years' experience in a legal or compliance role
n
Experience in design, implementation and management of compliance risk management processes
n
Experience in casino or gaming industry preferred.
n
