Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is seeking an experienced District Nurse Educator to join our Nursing and Midwifery Service (NaMS) and lead the development, delivery and evaluation of high-quality education and professional development programs across the District.
n
About The Chance
n
As a District Nurse Educator, you will provide strategic educational leadership to support the professional development of our Nursing & Midwifery workforce. Working across MLHD, you will identify emerging learning needs and design innovative, contemporary and evidence-based education programs that support staff at every stage of their career.
n
You will lead the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of education programs, incorporating adult learning principles, simulation-based education, clinical coaching and a range of contemporary learning technologies.
n
As a senior member of NaMs you will also provide leadership, professional support and expert guidance to Clinical Nurse Educators, helping to build a consistent and high-quality approach to clinical education across the District.

In this diverse and rewarding role, the ideal candidate will:

Lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of contemporary education and professional development programs.
n
Deliver facilitated education sessions, simulation-based training and clinical coaching.
n
Identify workforce learning needs and develop tailored learning and development plans.
n
Support staff to achieve and maintain clinical competencies and improve professional practice.
n
Provide leadership, mentoring and expert advisory support to Clinical Nurse Educators.
n
Collaborate with clinicians, managers and key stakeholders across the multidisciplinary workforce.
n
Ensure education programs reflect current evidence, legislation, policies and best-practice principles.
n
Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and evaluation activities.
n
Participate in District and State education forums, committees and working groups.
n
Champion innovative education practices and promote continuous learning across MLHD.
n

Essential Criteria
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
n
A postgraduate qualification relevant to the education portfolio.
n
Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD.
