Your new role
This is a unique opportunity to help shape how inclusion comes to life across Uniting. Working within our Mission and Equity team, you'll lead major initiatives that strengthen belonging, amplify lived experience and create meaningful organisational change.
This role is less about direct authority and more about influence. You'll work across a broad stakeholder group to build support, create momentum and drive lasting change. We need someone who can navigate complexity, balance blue-sky thinking with practical delivery, and bring others on the journey.
You'll thrive if you enjoy working in the grey, taking an ambitious vision and turning it into tangible outcomes through relationships, persistence and strong implementation.
Your impact will include:
Leading the implementation of key inclusion and belonging initiatives.
Building strong partnerships across leaders, teams and community stakeholders.
Influencing organisational practice, culture and ways of working.
Driving momentum through strong project delivery and change implementation.
Supporting accreditation, inclusion frameworks and continuous improvement.
Advocating for inclusive outcomes while balancing competing priorities.
Based in Melbourne's CBD, this is a adaptable hybrid role with opportunities to work from home or one of our sites close to home while maintaining strong connection with a highly collaborative team.
About the program
The Mission and Equity team partners across Uniting to advance inclusion, equity and belonging for our employees, consumers and communities.
This is a great time to join. The team is building on strong foundations and has genuine support from leadership to drive meaningful change across the organisation. You'll have the opportunity to help shape priorities, influence how we work and contribute to a growing inclusion agenda.
You'll be joining a high-trust,

community-oriented team that values collaboration, quality outcomes and supporting one another. The work is purposeful, dynamic and focused on creating lasting impact.
Benefits of working at Uniting
At Uniting, you'll enjoy:
Working in a large values-led organisation with real community impact.
Flexibility
to work from home up to 3 days per week, working 2 days in our CBD office.
Up to
$15,900 in salary packaging benefits
that can be used for living expenses such as groceries, bills, clothing and streaming services.
Save on dining out and drinks with a meal entertainment benefit of
$2,650 annually.
Increase your annual leave entitlements
through our purchase leave program.
Up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers (4 for secondary).
An extra 17.5%
on top of your fortnightly pay when you take paid annual leave.
Opt in or out of public holidays and be respected for your unique background.
Your skills and experience
We're looking for an influential relationship builder who can navigate complexity, drive change and deliver meaningful outcomes.
You will bring with you:
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience working across mid to large, complex organisations or community sectors.
Ability to translate strategy into practical actions and measurable outcomes.
Success leading complex projects, change initiatives or organisational programs
Knowledge of, or willingness to quickly build expertise in, relevant legislative and inclusion frameworks.

Ideal backgrounds could include local government, community services, mental health, NFPs or other complex organisational environments where influence, collaboration and implementation are critical to success.
