DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Security & Property Services to join a Federal Government agency. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a highly motivated professional with experience in protective security, facilities management, property services and governance.
Working within a national business services function, you will provide strategic advice, oversee security and property operations, drive compliance and assurance activities, and contribute to the delivery of corporate services across multiple office locations. This role offers the opportunity to influence organisational outcomes while leading initiatives that support a safe, secure and efficient workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead protective security functions including security clearances, personnel security, security awareness and assurance activities
Conduct security risk assessments and provide advice on emerging threats and security obligations
Support governance committees and contribute to security reporting and organisational compliance
Manage property, facilities and accommodation services across multiple office locations
Oversee lease arrangements, fit-outs, facilities projects and contractor performance
Develop and maintain security and property-related policies and procedures
Lead and support a small team while fostering a collaborative and service-focused culture
Contribute to broader corporate services initiatives and strategic projects
About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Experience in security, facilities, property or corporate services within a complex organisation
Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
Experience managing security risks, investigations, compliance or assurance activities
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
The ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment
Experience working collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams
Essential Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Security Clearance
Current National Police Clearance
Demonstrated experience within security, property, facilities or related corporate services functions
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
