Job description DFP Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Business Support Officer for a temporary assignment with a Queensland Government department based in Townsville.
This role is ideal for an organised and customer-focused administration professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing high-quality support to internal and external stakeholders.
About the Role As a Business Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative and customer service support to ensure the efficient delivery of business operations.
Working within a collaborative team workplace, you will manage a variety of administrative functions while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
Coordinate travel arrangements including flights, accommodation, vehicle hire, charters and ferry bookings.
Monitor and manage incoming correspondence, emails and telephone enquiries, ensuring timely responses.
Maintain accurate records and update information systems, including Microsoft Office and internal databases.
Prepare documents, reports, registers, procedures and manuals.
Undertake general administrative duties to support daily business operations.
Liaise effectively with industry contacts, local suppliers and stakeholders to facilitate service delivery.
Assist with managing enquiries and supporting senior staff when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Previous administration and customer service experience.




Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.
A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience working in a KPI-driven or fast-paced environment.
