About the Role Ferrycarrig is seeking an experienced and results-driven Lead Planner to join our growing project delivery team.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Lead Planner will play a critical role in developing, managing and controlling project schedules across a portfolio of civil infrastructure, road, bridge, utilities and major infrastructure projects.
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and site-based personnel, you will be responsible for establishing robust project controls, analysing project performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting successful project delivery through effective planning and reporting.
The role will provide leadership in project planning practices across the business and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will also provide critical planning support on projects delivered under a range of contract models, including NEC4, ensuring compliance with contractual programme requirements and supporting the effective management of change, risk and project performance throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Bring Demonstrated experience as a Lead Planner or Senior Planner on complex civil infrastructure projects.
Proven experience delivering road, bridge, utilities, water, rail or major infrastructure projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Strong experience in project controls, progress measurement, resource and cost loading, forecasting and earned value principles.
Demonstrated expertise in delay analysis, EOT claims and forensic scheduling.




Proven capability in tender planning, programme development and project execution planning.
Demonstrated experience administering and delivering projects under NEC4 contracts, with a strong understanding of programme management requirements, early warning processes, compensation events, change management and contractual time obligations.
Proven ability to develop, maintain and manage NEC-compliant programmes, supporting contract administration, schedule impact assessments and entitlement evaluations.
Experience preparing and assessing programme submissions, programme acceptance processes, delay analysis and Extension of Time claims within collaborative contract environments.
Solid understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes.
Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with project teams, clients and senior management.
Engineering, Construction Management or a related qualification is preferred.
A practical, proactive approach with strong attention to detail and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities Planning Scheduling Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Establish project baselines, critical paths, milestones and resource requirements.
Prepare tender, pre-contract and delivery programmes for major infrastructure projects.
Integrate procurement, design, construction and commissioning activities into project schedules.
Ensure schedules accurately reflect project scope, methodology and contractual obligations.
Project Controls Reporting Monitor project progress against baseline schedules.




Produce regular planning and performance reports for project and executive teams.
Analyse schedule performance and identify areas requiring corrective action.
Develop and maintain project dashboards and key performance indicators.
Support forecasting of project completion dates, resource requirements and productivity trends.
Risk, Delay Contractual Analysis Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct delay analysis and assess impacts of project changes and disruptions.
Prepare and assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims and supporting documentation.
Undertake forensic schedule analysis to support commercial and contractual matters.
Manage and maintain NEC-compliant programmes, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Support the assessment of compensation events, change management processes and programme acceptance requirements under NEC4 contracts.
Provide recommendations to improve project outcomes and reduce delivery risk.
Stakeholder Management Collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors and consultants to ensure alignment of project objectives.
Facilitate planning workshops, schedule reviews and project control meetings.
Present planning updates and project performance information to senior management and key stakeholders.
Develop strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Leadership Continuous Improvement Provide mentoring and guidance to Project Teams Support the development of planning standards, systems and best-practice methodologies across Ferrycarrig.
Promote data-driven decision making and continual improvement in project controls.
Contribute to the development of business-wide planning capability and planning governance.
