Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence.
We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence.
Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.
We also deliver high quality, safe and and effective responses to adults who use family violence so that the risk they pose can be assessed and they are held to account for their behaviour.
About the role Employed by The Salvation Army within The Orange Door network, as a Specialist Family Violence Orange Door Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering integrated, high-quality support to individuals and families experiencing family violence across the Inner Gippsland area.
Working within a multidisciplinary Orange Door team, you will assess and respond to the needs and risks of victim survivors, children and families, while maintaining a strong focus on perpetrator accountability and behaviour change.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent full time position,



based on-site in Morwell VIC.
Conditions Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Levels 5-6 (dependant on qualifications and experience).
How you will make an impact Conduct risk assessments, triage and crisis responses for adults using family violence Deliver targeted interventions and coordinated referrals that support behaviour change and accountability Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to assess risk and develop integrated support plans Provide interim case management and support to clients while facilitating access to appropriate services Contribute to a culture of continuous learning through training, reflective practice and professional development What you will bring Must hold or be 'working towards' an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 7 or above qualification in family violence or a related discipline .
AQF Level 7 qualifications include Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master Degrees Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209) Experience working in the family violence sector with an emphasis on adults who use violence is desirable Demonstrated knowledge of the physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioural impact of trauma and abuse Knowledge of Family and Domestic Violence including context, principles, philosophies, theories, policies, regulations, and legislation A current Victorian Driver's Licence A current Employee Working with Children Check What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful perks including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks)
