About the role Bis is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Commercial Business Partner to join our team in Tomago on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a highly influential role that will act as a trusted adviser and senior partner across Finance, Commercial and Operations.
You will work closely with the CFO, Executive Leadership Team and operational leaders to translate complex financial, commercial and operational information into clear insights and practical recommendations.
This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role suited to someone who enjoys getting close to operations, constructively challenging assumptions and using financial insight to drive meaningful business improvement.
Key responsibilities Partner with the CFO and senior leaders on operational, commercial and financial matters.
Connect operational performance with revenue, margin, cash flow and forecast outcomes.
Lead financial analysis for tenders, pricing decisions, contract renewals and variations.
Monitor contract and customer profitability, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
Improve analysis on variances in direct costs, labour and materials Improve reporting to better understand key metrics and drivers within the business Coordinate budgets, forecasts and longer-term plans across the assigned portfolio.
Develop scenario modelling, business cases and investment evaluations.
Identify and support sustainable improvements in EBITDA, margin, cash flow and working capital.
Simplify reporting and improve the quality and accessibility of financial and operational information.




Provide constructive challenge and influence outcomes across Finance, Commercial and Operations.
Support the CFO in operational reviews, planning forums and commercial discussions.
About you You are a commercially focused finance professional who can confidently operate at both an executive and operational level.
You are comfortable working with complexity, challenging established thinking and turning detailed information into clear, practical actions.
To be successful, you will bring: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
A mandatory CA or CPA qualification.
At least eight years' relevant post-qualification experience.
Strong experience in commercial finance, operational finance or senior finance business partnering.
Demonstrated experience advising and constructively challenging CFO, executive and General Manager-level stakeholders.
Experience in driving improvement initiatives in organisations Strong budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling and financial modelling capability.
Experience preparing complex business cases and investment recommendations.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and planning/reporting systems.
Robust communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently, build trusted relationships and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience within mining services, equipment hire, maintenance, labour services or another asset-intensive contracting environment will be highly regarded.
The role will involve periodic travel to operational sites and engagement within field and workshop environments.
