Murray Local Land Services (LLS) are keen to hear from qualified veterinarians interested in joining the team in Albury. As a District Veterinarian with LLS, you'll be part of a supportive and experienced team of veterinarians and Biosecurity Officers who undertake in the field prevention, preparedness, detection and response activities for animal biosecurity and animal welfare. This position is based both in the office and the field. The successful applicant would service producers within a 2.5hr radius of Albury, the eastern half of the Murray LLS region. Albury is a thriving inland city and with its sister city Wodonga on the Victorian side of the Muray boosting a population of over 90,000. In this role, you will:
Deliver animal biosecurity surveillance activities to ensure rapid identification of new and emerging biosecurity threats and assist in the implementation of response and post recovery programs




Undertake disease investigations in all species and provide advice and analysis to ensure timely response to biosecurity threats
Promote and advocate for best practice Animal Biosecurity and Welfare practices
Deliver compliance programs to ensure legislated biosecurity obligations including pest and disease management and livestock traceability meet national performance standards
Implement plans and strategies for engagement with the community and other key stakeholders to enhance understanding of the animal biosecurity and welfare functions of LLS

Our ideal candidate
will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively, build professional relationships with team members, community members and other external stakeholders. Provide positive customer experiences for our landholders and have initiative to progress and deliver outcomes.
You'll need to have a degree in Veterinary Science registrable in NSW, are (or can be) registered with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board and have a current NSW Driver Licence, plus the capacity and willingness to travel throughout your region as required.
