About the role
The Senior Manager, Investment Compliance is a key leadership role within the Fund Services business unit, responsible for overseeing investment compliance, operational due diligence, conflicts of interest management, information barriers and derivatives compliance. The role leads a specialist team and works closely with Investments, Risk, Regulatory Affairs and external service providers to ensure strong governance, effective controls and adherence to regulatory obligations.
This role is critical in protecting member outcomes by ensuring investment activities operate within mandate requirements, strengthening control environments and fostering a proactive risk culture. Through leadership, assurance and continuous improvement, the position helps maintain CBUS' compliance framework and supports informed investment decision-making across the Fund.
Key accountabilities
Lead and enhance the investment mandate compliance program, ensuring effective pre and post-trade monitoring and governance.
Oversee conflicts of interest processes, including personal trading, switching controls and regulatory compliance.
Establish and maintain information barriers and compliance frameworks to manage sensitive information and regulatory obligations.
Lead operational due diligence and risk monitoring of external investment managers and service providers.
Build team capability, drive a strong risk culture and deliver effective reporting, assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
What will you bring?
Extensive experience in risk, compliance or controls management within superannuation or a regulated financial services workplace.
Strong knowledge of investment compliance, operational risk management and prudential requirements, including CPS 230.
Proven ability to uplift control environments, manage remediation activities and strengthen governance frameworks.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience producing executive-level reporting and influencing outcomes.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, finance, law, risk management or a related discipline, with professional compliance or risk certifications highly regarded.
