THE ORGANISATION

Our Ways Solid Together: National Peak Body for Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence is a newly established peak body dedicated to addressing family, domestic and sexual violence within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The organisation will work across Australia to help create safer communities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

THE ROLE

The Finance Officer will support the day-to-day finance matters of the organisation. With guidance from the COO, the Finance Officer will take the lead on delivering payroll, accounts payable and receivables, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes for the organisation.

Key Duties

The main duties include, but are not limited to:

Payroll

- Fortnightly payroll processing for up to 15 staff with relevant reporting submissions including long service leave, PAYG payroll tax, STP, superannuation and salary packaging

Finance & Bookkeeping

- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Assist with bank reconciliations, journals, month‑end reporting and corporate credit card reconciliations and payments
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation

Compliance & Improvement

- Ensure compliance and reporting with Fair Work, ACNC, taxation, and internal policy requirements

Administration





- Support the organisation in day to day operations to ensure smooth workflows.
- On occasions, direct administration support for the COO and team.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 3 years' experience in payroll and finance related positions.
- Demonstrated experience leading on day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Demonstrated experience using Xero, Employment Hero or similar payroll/accounting systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills.

Desirable Requirements

- Experience in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector or experience in community services, health, wellbeing or related sectors
- Tertiary qualifications in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping or business administration
