Major Infrastructure Project | Road, Civil & Bridge Construction | FIFO WA

We are seeking experienced Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to join a major infrastructure project involving the construction of a bridge over an operational rail corridor, together with associated highway, road and civil works.

This is a significant project requiring experienced engineering professionals who can take ownership of key project packages and work closely with construction, commercial and project management teams.

The Opportunity

The project is being delivered by an established infrastructure contractor, with the primary focus on the overall project delivery and road construction scope, while a JV partner will be responsible for the structural component.
The project will also involve significant interface with a major iron ore operator, including coordination around FIFO flights and accommodation.
You will play a key role in the successful delivery of the project, working across engineering, construction, subcontractor management, quality, programme and commercial requirements.

Project Engineer

We are looking for Project Engineers with approximately 3-5 years' relevant experience in major civil infrastructure, road construction or similar environments.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the delivery of road, civil and associated infrastructure works
- Managing engineering and technical requirements across allocated packages
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Supporting procurement and construction planning
- Monitoring programme, quality, cost and project performance
- Managing RFIs, ITPs, technical queries and design coordination
- Working closely with Supervisors, Project Managers and the wider project team




- Ensuring works comply with project specifications and MRWA requirements

Senior Project Engineer

For the Senior Project Engineer positions, we are seeking candidates with approximately 6-8 years' relevant experience and the ability to take ownership of significant project packages.

Responsibilities will include:

- Leading engineering delivery across major project packages
- Managing technical, construction and design interfaces
- Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders
- Driving programme, quality and commercial outcomes
- Managing project documentation, procurement and construction planning
- Providing technical leadership to Project Engineers and the wider delivery team
- Working closely with the Project Manager and construction leadership
- Managing complex interfaces across road, civil, structural and rail-related works
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications and MRWA requirements

About You

We are particularly interested in engineers with a solid background in major road and highway construction.
Ideally, you will have:

- Relevant civil engineering qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience for Project Engineer positions
- 6-8 years' experience for Senior Project Engineer positions
- Experience delivering major road, highway or civil infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction engineering and project delivery
- MRWA experience will be highly regarded
- Strong subcontractor,



consultant and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working within complex project environments
- Exposure to major mining/resource projects will be advantageous
- Familiarity with Rio Tinto systems, processes or project environments would be beneficial

Candidates with a strong structural/bridge background may also be considered, provided they have relevant road construction experience and familiarity with MRWA requirements.

FIFO & Roster

The final work cycle is still being determined and will ultimately be governed by available Rio Tinto flight schedules.

Potential arrangements include:

- 10 days on / 4 days off - preferred
- 2 weeks on / 1 week off - subject to flight availability

Package

Project Engineer

- Up to $155,000 base salary + super
- 20% site uplift
- Company vehicle

Senior Project Engineer

- Up to $185,000 base salary + super
- 20% site uplift
- Company vehicle

Both positions offer the opportunity to work on a significant bridge and highway project with complex road, civil, rail and mining interfaces.
