APS Welding is looking for three skilled tradespeople to join our team in Inverell, working across heavy fabrication, welding and specialist equipment.
This is not production-line work. You'll be working on large, heavy apparatus and projects where no two days are necessarily the same — including crane grillages, earth-moving equipment, vacuum trucks and mobile welding work.
We're looking for people who want more than just their next job. This is a long-term career opportunity with a well-established business that values people who take pride in their work, have a good attitude and are willing to go the extra mile.
About the roleYou'll work across a range of heavy fabrication and welding projects, including:
- Heavy structural and general fabrication
- Welding and fabrication of crane-related equipment and grillages
- Earth-moving equipment
- Vacuum trucks and specialist heavy equipment
- Mobile welding and field-based work
- Working with a range of materials and fabrication requirements
The standard working week is 38 hours, with overtime available. Typical hours are 6.00am–4.30pm Monday to Thursday, with a shorter day on Friday. Weekend work is occasional rather than routine.
What we're looking forYou will have:
- Certificate III or IV in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welder or Metal Fabricator), or a closely related trade qualification.
- Solid experience in heavy fabrication and welding
- The ability to read and work from drawings
- A solid focus on quality, safety and getting the job done properly
- A practical, reliable and positive attitude
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Experience working with stainless steel and aluminium would be an advantage.
A crane licence and/or forklift licence would also be beneficial, but these are not essential.
Most importantly,
we're looking for people who are reliable, take pride in their work and want to build something long term. APS Welding is prepared to invest in the right people who demonstrate commitment and a willingness to learn and contribute.
Why join APS Welding?
- $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience
- 38-hour standard week plus overtime
- Varied, interesting heavy fabrication work — not production line
- Long-term career opportunity and robust job security
- Opportunity to develop your skills across different types of equipment and projects
- A business that values and invests in people who go the extra mile
- Occasional rather than regular weekend work
- Immediate start
- Relocation support may be available for the right candidate
Thinking about relocating to Inverell? If you're interested in the opportunity but aren't ready to commit to a move straight away, APS Welding can offer a trial period. Come to Inverell, work with the team and experience the job and the area before making a longer-term decision.
For the right person, this could be the start of a long-term career and a new lifestyle in regional NSW.
If you're a qualified tradesperson who enjoys working with big equipment, solving practical problems and producing quality work, we'd like to hear from you.
