Male Support Worker – Orange, NSW
Location: Orange, NSW
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 hours per day
Preferred Staff: Male Support Worker
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Support Worker to provide high-quality support to a participant in Orange, NSW.
The participant lives with schizophrenia and requires a support worker who is confident working with individuals with psychosocial disabilities and can provide calm, respectful, and consistent support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to the participant’s needs and goals.
- Support the participant with daily activities and community participation.
- Build a positive and professional working relationship with the participant.
- Recognise early signs of escalation and respond appropriately.
- Follow behavioural support and risk management strategies.
- Maintain a safe and supportive setting.
- Complete required documentation and report any concerns appropriately.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities or complex support needs.
- Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions.
- The ability to recognise and appropriately respond to escalation.
- A good understanding of risk management and behavioural support practices.
- Confidence working with participants who have a known history of substance use.
- Excellent communication, patience, and emotional awareness.
- A calm, reliable, and non-judgmental approach.
- Relevant qualifications and NDIS-related clearances.
