The opportunity
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence/Data Analyst to join the Consumer Insights and Analytics team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the Consumer business. Combining strong Power BI development expertise with solid SQL and data management skills, you will design and build intuitive dashboards, develop reliable data models, work with complex datasets and databases, and translate business requirements into actionable insights. You will partner closely with stakeholders to create trusted reporting products, improve data quality and governance, and help drive better business outcomes through effective use of data and analytics.

Your new role
This role involves collaborating with business leaders to define measurement frameworks, develop key performance indicators, and deliver self-service visualisation and reporting capabilities to drive positive outcomes and support strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that support data-driven decision making.
- Analyse data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into effective reporting,
data models and analytical solutions.
- Develop, optimise and maintain SQL queries and data assets to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand priorities, answer key business questions and deliver fit-for-purpose insights.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Consumer, Technology and Data teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data accessibility and operational efficiency.
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Monitor, validate and maintain data quality across reporting and analytical products.
- Identify and escalate data quality, privacy and governance risks as appropriate.
- Contribute to data governance, documentation and reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing and mentoring to peers and junior team members.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a similar Business Intelligence/Data Analyst role within Insurance or Financial Services. You will also have:
- Hands-on experience in data analysis and PowerBI development
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with databases and complex datasets.
- Intermediate knowledge in Software Development Lifecycle and General Insurance
- Experience developing trusted reporting products for business stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex data into simple, actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
