Registered Nurse – Operating Theatre | Mackay

Temporary Contracts | 4–14 Weeks | Casual

WorkPac Health & Social Care are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses for temporary contract opportunities within the Operating Theatre at Mackay Hospital.

These roles are ideal for experienced Theatre RNs looking for short-term opportunities in Queensland.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse working within the Operating Theatre, you will provide high-quality nursing care while supporting the safe and effective delivery of surgical procedures.

You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing and theatre teams to maintain patient safety, infection control standards and quality clinical care throughout the perioperative environment.

Key Requirements

Mandatory:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

- Recent operating theatre experience

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate

- Competency in manual and patient handling

- Infection control and hand hygiene competency

- Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations relating to reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect





- Occupational Violence Prevention Training, including de-escalation skills, situational awareness and personal safety

- Knowledge of medication management requirements, including QPHS Drugs and Poisons Regulations (November 2012)

Desirable Experience

The following experience is highly regarded:

- Knowledge and proficiency using ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record)

- Previous nursing experience within Australia

- Previous experience working within Queensland Health

- Previous experience within Mackay Hospital and Health Service (Mackay HHS)
