OUR VISION

The Charleville and District Community Support Association Incorporated works towards creating stronger, safer and more resourceful communities in Charleville and the south-west region.

OUR MISSION

To work together with communities, in a respectful and genuine way, to recognise and value the strengths of individuals and communities

1. PRIMARY ROLE

The NextGen Blueprint is an initiative by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) exploring how rural communities can build genuine intergenerational leadership, where experienced leaders and young people share authority, grow together, and create systems that renew over time.

Charleville is one of two communities selected nationally to pilot this approach. This Blueprint reflects what Charleville’s community designed together across workshops in May 2026 and articulates the overarching goals the community hopes to achieve across three years from 2026 to end 2028.”

The Community Pathfinder role directly supports the FRRR NextGen Blueprint in Charleville by connecting young people, community organisations and local leaders around two main priorities; evidence-led advocacy, and sustainable leadership systems The role helps turn local conversations into practical, coordinated action and creates opportunities for young people to influence the decisions and activities that affect their community.

The role focuses on:

· Listening to young people and the wider community to identify local strengths, needs and shared priorities.

· Bringing organisations and leaders together to collaborate, problem-solve, pursue practical actions and follow them through.

· Supporting young and experienced leaders to share knowledge, mentorship, responsibility and decision-making.

· Coordinating youth leadership activities and supporting youth participation and decision-making

· Helping local partners sustain the work and relationships beyond the funded project, including identification of potential future funding opportunities to sustain and continue community partnerships priorities

The Pathfinder is a community connector and facilitator. They will organise engagement, support collaborative activities, document agreed actions and report on progress. They will build on existing local groups and initiatives, with the community retaining ownership of its priorities. Where an individual needs personal support, the Pathfinder will connect them with an appropriate service through established pathways.

Working towards the Association’s vision of stronger, safer and more resourceful communities, the Pathfinder will use an inclusive, respectful approach. The stages of intergenerational leadership provide a guide for identifying realistic next steps with local partners; each community’s starting point will be determined through engagement, not assumed in advance.
