About the role

Gilligans Blinds & Custom Furnishings is a boutique workroom located in Mulgrave, specialising in custom-made Roman blinds and soft furnishings for the interior design industry. We are seeking an experienced sewing machinist to join our small, friendly team and help produce high-quality, beautifully finished products.

Key responsibilities

· Sewing linings using an industrial plain sewing machine.

· Crease & tape linings.

· Measure and cut fabric accurately.

· Produce Roman blinds and soft furnishings to high-quality standards.

· Follow specialised methods for making Roman blinds to ensure consistency and quality.

About you

· Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to precision and exceptional workmanship

· Fluent in English, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions

· Good communication skills and a positive,



team-oriented attitude

· Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and proactive approach

Work Conditions

· Workroom hours - Monday to Thursday: 8 am – 4 pm & Friday: 8 am – 2 pm

· Hours are negotiable for the right applicant – 3 days to 5 days per week

· Convenient Mulgrave location, close to the Monash Freeway
