Reporting to the Team Manager – Inbound and Inventory, the Leading Hand - Inventory PM is responsible for supporting the Team Manager by leading the daily inventory control activities across the Distribution Centre, ensuring stock accuracy, bin integrity, cycle count execution, and timely resolution of stock discrepancies.

More about the role

- Oversee daily inventory operations and resource allocation — cycle counts, audits, investigations and replenishment — while managing stock issues and escalations with cross-functional teams to minimise impact on service and dispatch.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready inventory control through disciplined adherence to procedures and WMS/RF usage, investigating discrepancies with evidence and upholding strong documentation, traceability and stock accuracy.
- Lead, train and mentor the team to build inventory capability and drive performance, using daily briefings and clear expectations to foster a culture of safety, accuracy and accountability.

- Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring all inventory activities meet WHS, manual handling, MHE, racking and Dangerous Goods requirements, and by identifying hazards and supporting incident reporting and risk assessments.
- Identify and implement improvements to stock accuracy, workflows, layout and replenishment — supporting SOP updates, training and process trials — while encouraging team input and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
- Partner with operational teams to align priorities and resolve issues, clearly communicating stock risks and actions with a customer-focused, solutions-driven approach.

To qualify for the role you must have:

- Experience in a warehouse, logistics or inventory control environment, ideally within a high-volume distribution centre.
- Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate daily inventory activities.
- Solid understanding of inventory control processes including cycle counts, stock investigations, replenishment, putaway and stock accuracy.
