Chef, Cook & Wait Staff – Wara Sushi Rockingham

Wara Sushi is a fast-growing Japanese restaurant group operating more than 20 restaurants across QLD, VIC and WA.

Our core business is sushi conveyor belt restaurants, supported by established systems and structured operations. As we continue to grow, we are looking for reliable team members who are interested in building a long-term career with Wara Sushi.

We are currently recruiting Chef, Cook and Wait Staff for our Rockingham restaurant in WA.

Paid accommodation is available near the workplace.

? Employment

- Casual, Part time and Full-time opportunities available

- Full time: 38 hours per week

- Long-term employment preferred

- Salary and employment conditions will be discussed based on individual experience and capability

Please note that full-time employment is not offered immediately upon joining. New team members will initially commence on a casual basis to familiarise themselves with our operations and core duties. Based on individual performance and capability, full-time employment may be offered.

? Casual Pay Rates

Introductory Level – First 3 Months

- Weekdays: $32.18/hr

- Weekends: $38.61/hr

- Public Holidays: $64.35/hr

Level 1 – After 3 Months

- Weekdays: $33.05/hr

- Weekends: $39.66/hr

- Public Holidays: $66.10/hr

Additional benefits:

- 12% Superannuation

- Applicable overtime and penalty rates paid separately

Depending on individual qualifications, experience, performance and business requirements, sponsorship opportunities may be available under 482, 491 or 494 visas.

?‍? Position Responsibilities

Chef

- Prepare and cook a wide range of food

- Manage kitchen sections during service

- Maintain food quality and company standards

- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements

- Coordinate with management and front-of-house staff

- Train and support kitchen team members

- Manage deliveries and food inventory

- Order ingredients and kitchen supplies

Cook

- Prepare ingredients and kitchen items

- Cook food according to company standards

- Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness

- Assist with stock and inventory management

- Work effectively with the kitchen team

Wait Staff

- Greet and seat customers

- Take orders and serve food and drinks

- Clear and reset tables

- Assist customers with menu enquiries

- Process payments and operate POS systems

- Maintain a clean and welcoming dining area

- Support general front-of-house operations





? Experience & Requirements

- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience is required for Chef/Cook applicants

- The required kitchen experience must include Asian cuisine experience

- Japanese cuisine experience is not essential

- Australian qualifications are preferred

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Long-term commitment is preferred

- Valid Australian work rights are required
