Currently, we are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Core Yard Technician to join our Underground Mine Geology team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Core Yard Technician, you will support the Underground Geology team with the preparation, handling and storage of diamond drill core and geological samples. This is a hands-on surface role based in the core yard at Paddington Operations, with a combination of practical work and accurate data entry.

Previous mining or geology experience is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided to the right person who can work safely, follow processes, stay organised and is willing to learn. Experience gained in sample preparation, warehousing, logistics, production, hospitality or other fast-paced practical environments may also be suitable.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Collect, wash and prepare diamond drill core for geological logging.





• Mark, measure and photograph drill core.

• Prepare core and other geological samples for laboratory testing.

• Assist with core orientation, geotechnical measurements and sampling.

• Accurately record core and sample information and follow QAQC procedures.

• Load, unload, store and retrieve core trays.

• Maintain the core yard, equipment and work areas to company standards.

• Monitor supplies and consumables and report when stock is required.

• Provide practical and logistical support to the Underground Geology team.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience in mining, core handling, sampling, laboratory work, warehousing, logistics or another hands-on environment is preferred but not essential.

• Current unrestricted C Class manual Western Australian Driver’s Licence (essential).

• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid Australian working rights (essential).

• Ability to undertake regular manual handling, including lifting and moving core trays and sampling materials.

• Comfortable spending extended periods on your feet and working outdoors in hot and dusty conditions.





• Good attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.

• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Senior First Aid, Working at Heights or Forklift Licence (desirable).
