Assisi Catholic College is a beautifully designed P-12 Brisbane Catholic Education co-educational school, with an enrolment of approximately 1,520 students. Summary
Assisi Catholic College based in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Assistant Business Manager to join the leadership team in a pivotal role that combines financial leadership with broad exposure to school operations. As Assistant Business Manager, you will lead a dedicated Finance Team, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial management, budgeting, reporting, purchasing, and operational support services that enable the College to thrive.

About the chance
As Assistant Business Manager, you will lead a dedicated Finance Team, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial management, budgeting, reporting, purchasing, and operational support services that enable the College to thrive.
Working closely with the Business Manager, you will also contribute to a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including capital works and building projects, compliance and governance requirements, risk management, procurement, contract administration, and the day-to-day operational needs of a large and dynamic P-12 school environment.
This role offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking to broaden their expertise and develop the skills required for future senior leadership in school business management.
In this role, you be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a high-performing, service-oriented Finance Team
- Delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and administration
- Supporting the planning and delivery of capital works and infrastructure projects
- Strengthening compliance, governance, risk management, and operational practices across the College
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service delivery, and stakeholder experience.
- Building positive relationships with staff, suppliers, and the broader College community
- Contributing to the strategic and operational success of the College through proactive problem-solving and collaborative leadership.
About you
To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:
- Strong leadership and team management skills to achieve a school's financial goals
- Ability to provide strategic financial advice, identify risks, and spot opportunities
- Experience in contributing to leadership decisions and improving efficiencies
- Expertise in coaching and developing staff to enhance systems and practices
- Skills in identifying process improvements and recommending alternative approaches
- Tertiary qualification at Diploma level in Finance or related field
- For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
