Technical Officer (Corridor Management)
- Permanent / Full Time
- Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- $107,154 - $111,619 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 5) + Superannuation
- Location – Rockhampton
Your new role
Help shape how our road network operates today while supporting the infrastructure needs of tomorrow.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll work closely with developers, utility providers, contractors, government agencies and the community to achieve practical and compliant outcomes. From traffic management and heavy vehicle assessments to road reserve compliance and project support, you'll be at the centre of decisions that influence the safe and efficient use of our transport corridors.
As a Technical Officer – Corridor Management, you'll play a key part in managing activities that impact Council's road reserves and transport network. Working across a diverse portfolio, you'll assess permit applications, provide technical advice, monitor compliance, and support the delivery of major projects that help keep our region connected and moving safely.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Experience in traffic management, corridor management, civil infrastructure or a related field,
supported by relevant qualifications and an understanding of applicable legislation, standards and policies.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with experience assessing applications, permits, compliance matters or infrastructure-related activities within a regulatory environment
- Exceptional ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and deliver practical, customer-focused solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and achieve positive outcomes across industry, government and community stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the initiative to identify opportunities, enhance processes and improve service delivery.

Application Criteria
- Relevant qualifications, licences and accreditations with experience applying technical knowledge and interpreting legislation, standards and policies relevant to the role.
- Experience in traffic management, corridor management, civil infrastructure or a similar technical environment, including the assessment, management or monitoring of works impacting road networks and transport corridors.
- Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, utility providers, government agencies and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience applying sound judgement and problem-solving skills to manage compliance, permitting, traffic management or operational issues within a regulatory environment.
