Good construction procurement takes more than a spreadsheet. It takes market knowledge, solid relationships and the confidence to keep things moving.
Talent Web is recruiting a Procurement Analyst to support a major national property account within an established property and project services business.
Working closely with the Project Director and construction team, you will help bring the right contractors and suppliers into projects, secure competitive pricing and get procurement decisions made in time for delivery.
With a portfolio spanning fit-out, logistics and industrial environments, there is plenty of variety and scope to make your mark.
What you’ll be doing
You will be involved from early procurement planning through to tender evaluation and contract establishment. Day to day, that means:
- Working with project managers to map out what needs procuring and when
- Preparing RFQs, approaching the market and keeping tender processes moving
- Managing tender queries, comparing submissions and supporting clear recommendations
- Working alongside the construction team on commercial negotiations negotiations
- Getting contractors and suppliers onboarded and ready to start
- Staying across pricing trends, contractor availability and market risks
- Keeping procurement schedules aligned with project deadlines
- Tracking supplier performance and maintaining clear, accurate records
- Making sure procurement meets the account’s governance and compliance requirements
What you’ll bring
You understand how construction projects run and how procurement decisions affect cost, timing and delivery. You can get into the detail of a tender, ask the right questions and build productive relationships with contractors and project teams.
We’re looking for:
- Five or more years in construction procurement or project delivery, with solid tendering experience
- Knowledge of contractor markets across fit-out, logistics, industrial or similar projects
- A good grasp of pricing, contract structures and commercial risk
- The ability to manage several procurement activities without losing sight of deadlines
- Clear communication and confidence dealing with project teams, suppliers and client stakeholders
- Experience with procurement systems and contract administration
- A relevant qualification in construction, procurement, commercial management or a related field
Why this role?
You will be close to the projects and the people delivering them. Your market insights and recommendations will help shape contractor selection, manage costs and keep a national construction programme progressing.
If you enjoy the commercial side of construction and want a role where you can take ownership, we’d like to hear from you.
