Sumich is Australia’s largest exporter of fresh carrots and onions, supplying both domestic and international markets with quality produce. We are seeking an Account Manager to work in our fresh produce export team, ensuring our overseas branding remains robust and continues to grow.
Based at our Head Office located in Stirling, Western Australia, you will focus on our export markets, predominantly for carrots, celery and leeks. Working with our export sales and export documentation teams, you will be responsible for building on our existing customer relationships and strong brand recognition in international markets.
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to manage customer relationships by:
- Continuing to build customer satisfaction through consistent supply and regular contact.
- Effective management and teamwork within the export sales and export documentation teams.
- Forward planning of sales programs.
- Developing a strong understanding of the different dynamics within each of the key markets that we operate.
As Account Manager - Export, you will as part of the sales team:
- Prepare and implement weekly order and production plan;
- Liaise with farm and shed personnel to ensure weekly orders are filled;
- Negotiate pricing and weekly container requirements with shipping lines;
- Provide recommendations to the Managing Director on regional sales pricing;
- Manage customer claims as required.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have prior account management experience with a proven track record of excellent customer relations in overseas markets;
- Have the right to live and work in Australia and be able to work out of our Stirling office;
- Have strong communication skills in order to liaise with all key stakeholders including but not limited to customers, shipping lines, farm and packing shed managers, and the export documentation team;
- Have a forward-thinking approach, with the ability to anticipate and plan effectively;
- Have effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of export markets and supply and price movements;
- Be available for weekend and after hours work during peak periods.
