About the role
You will work as a multi-skilled Media Assistant across the business: executive support, communications, events and office operations. Experience matters less than standards.
We are not hiring for jargon, or a polished “passionate about media” line. We need someone who is reliable, sharp, discreet, and quick.
The right fit for this job is someone who moves without being chased, takes pride in unglamorous work, learns fast, keeps their word, and treats every task as proof they belong near bigger responsibility. If you want a slow, narrow job with low expectation, this is the wrong listing.
Key responsibilities
- Own calendars, appointments, reminders and meeting logistics
- Prepare correspondence, agendas, briefing notes and follow-up actions
- Screen calls and emails and flag what actually needs attention
- Arrange travel, itineraries and ground transport
- Handle confidential personal and commercial matters with zero leakage
- Keep media and contact lists current and usable
- Assist with press materials, media kits, bios and image assets
- Support outreach, interview scheduling and coverage tracking
- Help coordinate promotional activity as directed
- Proof external communications so they are accurate and on-tone
About you
- Right to work in Australia
- Clear, professional written and spoken English
- Robust organisation, time management and attention to detail
- Discretion, judgement and a professional manner
- Confidence with Google Workspace
- Willingness to handle both executive support and practical office duties, including hospitality
- Ability to work on-site in Melbourne during business hours, with after-hours support for events
- Prior administration, reception, PA or customer-service experience (desirable)
- Genuine interest in film, music, media, events or public relations (desirable)
- Current Victorian driver's licence (desirable)
About us
We are a growing media company operating across film, music, television, publishing, live events and science media. The work is real, the pace is high, and the output is public. This is not a large corporate with layers of process. It is a small, ambitious team that ships projects and expects people around the work to keep up.
Benefits
- A real entry point into a multi-disciplinary media business
- Direct exposure to projects, talent, PR and events
- More responsibility as you prove you can carry it
- A team that rewards output, reliability and initiative
Application Process
Via seek only - no agencies. Interviews are on a rolling basis and happen quickly.
