We are seeking a driven AML Compliance Officer to lead and scale the next stage of our platform development.

The Role

This is a senior compliance appointment with primary ownership of Picklebet’s Australian AML and financial crime framework, working alongside senior management and reporting to our Board.

As our AML/CTF Compliance Officer, you will serve as the executive leader accountable for the ongoing development and operationalisation of our Australian AML compliance framework, act as our designated AMLCO with AUSTRAC, and head our AML operational team.

You will take full ownership of policies, procedures and day-to-day practice and the internal escalation point for financial crime matters. This role will suit an experienced compliance professional who wants real autonomy in a growing business and is comfortable being both strategic and operational.

Key responsibilities:

- Own and develop the AML and financial crime compliance framework, ensuring alignment with AML/CTF/CPF requirements, legislation and industry guidance
- Conduct a full review of existing AML policies, procedures and controls and drive improvements
- Oversee customer risk assessment, CDD, EDD, Source of Funds and Source of Wealth procedures
- Provide guidance on higher-risk customers, unusual activity and complex cases
- Act as designated AMLCO — assessing internal reports,



submitting SMRs to the AUSTRAC and maintaining investigation records
- Report to senior management on AML risks, cases, trends and control effectiveness
- Maintain the business-wide money laundering and terrorist financing risk assessment
- Monitor regulatory developments, support regulatory submissions and information requests, and prepare the business for compliance assessments
- Deliver AML regulatory training, embedding a strong compliance culture

Requirements:

- Solid experience within AUS-regulated online gambling, ideally sportsbook
- Detailed knowledge of Australian AML/CTF/CPF requirements
- Significant practical experience of AML, CDD, EDD, SOF and SOW assessments
- Experience handling complex and higher-risk customer cases
- Excellent written skills, with the ability to produce clear policies, risk assessments and regulatory documentation
- Confidence to work independently and challenge or advise senior stakeholders

Highly desirable:

- Previous AMLCO or Deputy AMLCO experience with a AUS-licensed operator, direct engagement with AUSTRAC
- experience in managing compliance assessments and external reviews, and
- relevant AML or financial crime qualifications
